When a Real Estate Deal Falls Apart (and How We Still Made It to Closing)
This deal tried to fall apart… more than once.
And yet, we still made it to the closing table.
This was easily one of the most challenging transactions I’ve been a part of here in the Metro East area. There was unexpected hurdles, moments where things felt uncertain, and more than one point where it could have completely unraveled. But through it all, one thing remained constant- showing up, every single day, for my clients.

In real estate, people often only see the highlight reel. The “just sold”, the keys at closing, the smiles in front of the house. What you don’t always see is everything happening behind the scenes to get there. Especially in a competitive Metro East Illinois market like Shiloh, O’Fallon, and surrounding areas.
This transaction was a reminder of how important communication truly is. Staying in constant contact with the lender, title company, and listing agent made all the difference. When challenges came up, we didn’t avoid them- we worked through them. Quickly, clearly, and together.
It was also a reminder of how much trust matters.
My clients trusted me to guide them through a situation that wasn’t always easy or predictable. And that trust allowed me to advocate for them, problem solve, and keep things moving forward- even when it felt like everything was working against us.
If you’re thinking about buying a home and want to feel prepared before jumping in, I put together a step-by-step Home Buyer Guide that walks you through the entire process.
And I truly believe God was in every part of it.
There came a point where I had done everything I possibly could on my end. Every call made, every conversation had, every solution explored. And after that, I had to fully place it in His hands.
Whether it worked out and we were celebrating at the closing table, or whether it didn’t and we had to start the search over- I had to trust that the outcome would be exactly what it was meant to be.
And more than anything, I prayed for the ability to work through it all with grace. To show up with patience, to communicate clearly, and to treat every person involved with respect and care- even in the stressful moments.
Because that’s what matters too. Not just getting to the finish line, but how you handle everything along the way.
And for me, that’s what this job is really about.
Purchasing or selling your home can be one of the most high-intensity and stressful situations to walk through. And I don’t take that lightly. I want to carry that burden with you - and in many ways, for you- do you don’t have to navigate it alone.
It’s not about how many deals I can close or how much money I can make. It’s about people. It’s about showing up, serving well, and building real relationships along the way.
With my clients- walking through big life moments with them. With lenders, title companies, inspectors, appraisers-working together as a team to get the job done the right way.
Because at the end of the day, real estate isn’t just transactions. It’s trust. It’s communication. It’s relationships.
And those relationships are what carry you through the hard deals- not just the easy ones.
At the end of the day, the sellers were able to close a chapter of their lives and move forward. And my clients stepped into an incredible home at a price point we worked hard to achieve.
My heart is so full.
